This project focused on cyber security related research at some of the country’s top institutions on improving the robustness of the information infrastructure in the oil and gas sector. Eleven institutions from across the country joined forces to develop new solutions and demonstrate their effectiveness to the oil and gas sector owners, operators, and vendors. Some aspects of this project were further researched as part of the Survivability and Recovery of Process Control Systems Project.

A core value and long-term goal of the I3P is information sharing. With funding from National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the Institute began development of a cyber security digital commons of information, tools, and resources for researchers, librarians, students, and the public. The Digital Library created as part of this project is now maintained by the Naval Postgraduate School Center for Homeland Defense and Security. Visit the Homeland Security Digital Library.
