Hosted by the Institute for Information Infrastructure Protection (I3P) to explore ways to enhance the survivability and recovery of process control systems.

The survivability and recovery of Process Control Systems (PCS) has emerged as an area of paramount concern to national security.  PCS need to be made more secure, equipped with the ability to detect and deflect intruders, and at the same time be able to recover in the event of a system failure.

At this workshop, you will learn:

• How Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability concerns can vary within a plant, and how they can affect corporate risks.
• The importance of finding and eliminating errors in software prior to deployment
• How an unauthorized insider can be prevented from issuing unapproved commands, how an outside attack would have to be coordinated with an authorized user's location, which is easily identifiable, and how a novel technique can identify who issued a critical command for forensic purposes
• How Interconnectivity between business and process-control networks--enabled by the use of TCP/IP in field-level protocols--exposes process-control networks to serious attacks, and how to prevent it.
• How motivated adversaries operate and how to respond to them

At this workshop you will also:

• Learn about I3P technologies that can help your company respond to and recover from attacks
• Engage with your peers and the I3P team to ensure that emerging solutions match your needs
• Listen to an addess by Greg Vaughn, President of ENTELEC

Asset owners from oil and gas and other critical infrastructures, control systems engineers, operators, information and security officers and vendors, as well as security experts from government, industry associations, and academia.
