Privacy Statement

Visitors to the I3P Knowledge Base have reasonable expectations of privacy in their use of information resources. In addition Consortium Member representatives should expect that their personal information, such as work phone numbers, will not be available to the general public. For those reasons our privacy policy is as follows:

• We make no effort to identify public users of the I3P Knowledge Base. No identifying data is disclosed to any third party for any purpose. Data that we collect is used only for server administration, web protocol research, and internal evaluation of our services.
• Log requests used for administration and researching the efficacy of our tools.
• Logged information is kept indefinitely as administrative and research material; it is not disclosed outside of I3P Knowledge Base staff. Aggregate (completely non-identifying) statistics generated from these logs may be reported as part of research results.
• Members' interactions with the site are authenticated. Consequently we have the capability to identify those users and their activities. We use member related information for the purposes of administering the I3P Knowledge Base, and communicating and collaborating with our members.
• Contact information for individuals functioning as Consortium member representatives will only be available to respresentatives of other Consortium member institutions, I3P staff, and representatives from our government sponsors.
• Working Groups have password protected work spaces where they may discuss, upload draft documents, and carrying out the business of the Consortium. These spaces are private and are not accessible by I3P administrative staff. The working groups? deliberations may be archived for historical purposes, but will no be accessible to a larger audience without the working group?s approval.
• Information about individual subscribers ( names, e-mail addresses, organizational affiliations) to I3P Knowledge Base services will be used only to evaluate the effectiveness of these services.

Linking Policy

Thank you for visiting the I3P Knowledge Base. Following are our policies related to linking to the I3P Knowledge Base, privacy and the use of data gathered from our site, and our copyright policy. The I3P is administratively tied to Dartmouth College, and as such, adheres to the internet policies established by the College.Our linking guidelines are as follows:

• Linking to the public (not password accessed) I3P Knowledge Base website is allowed, and advanced permission is not required before linking.
• Links should be made using the base URL of www.thei3p.org.
• Because sub-page names or locations may change without notice, the site owner should routinely link to the top level I3P Knowledge Base homepage.
• Site owners may not capture I3P Knowledge Base pages within the site owner's frames, present I3P Knowledge Base content as that of the site owner, otherwise misrepresent the content of the I3P Knowledge Base pages or misinform users about the origin or ownership of the content of the I3P Knowledge Base.
• The I3P Knowledge Base will include a disclaimer noting that when the Knowledge Base links to sites outside the I3P domain the I3P assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, content or endorsement of information contained on that outside site.
• Links on the I3P Knowledge Base are routinely tested for accuracy and currency.
